Fire Suppression

The Town of Niagara Active Hose Company is the solely contracted fire suppression service provider in the town. The fire company responds to all types of fires including but not limited to residential, commercial, automotive, grass/brush, and rubbish "trash" fires.

In 2018, our company responded to 260 fire incidents.

Accident Victim Extrication

The Town of Niagara Active Hose Company provides extrication services to the residents and visitors of the town.  Being a tourist destination as well as an international border city, our visitor populaton is extensive.  

In 2018, our company responded to 114 motor vehicle collisions.

Technical Rescue

The Town of Niagara Active Hose  Company provides specialized Rope Rescue Teams for high angle, low angle, above grade, below grade, and basic water rescues. Many members of our Technical Rescue Teams are affiliated with the Niagara County Technical Rescue Team.

In 2018, we responded to 3 Technical Rescue incidents.

Mutual Aid

The Town of Niagara Active Hose Company provides mutual aid to neighboring departments.  Examples include responding with the Upper Mountain Fire Company for rescue operations in Devil's Hole State Park

Emergency Medical Services

EMS, or Emergency Medical Services, is an integral part of firefighting. In addition to responding to fires, vehicle collisions, and technical rescue calls, we also respond to many calls for emergency medical assistance.

The majority of our members hold certifications ranging from Certified First Responder and Basic Emergency Medical Technicians to Paramedics.  All of the apparatus in our fleet are equipped with AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) and Emergency Medical Supplies.

In 2018, we responded to 995 requests for Emergency Medical Services.
